Mmeli K is a multi-talented Afro-pop/Dance artist born and bred in Durban, South Africa. A qualified medical doctor, a young entrepreneur, and a passionate musician, Mmeli K releases his debut single – the hook driven ‘Amalobolo’.
Mentored by the jazz legend Khaya Mahlangu and the likes of Vuyo Tshuma, Fundile Mdingi and many more he was introduced to a more profound understanding of the music art.
He made his appearance into the music scene in 2007 as a backing vocalist of Mlamli (the close friend and lifelong backing vocalist of the late Brenda Fassie).
His exposure while performing with Mlamli around South Africa paying tribute to this late Pop Legend (Brenda) inspired him to pursue a solo career in 2009. Together with his producer and friend Toto Lloyd Mbhele he composed and recorded many tracks performing live in various clubs and public events around Gauteng and KZN.
His music has a deep Afro-Soul feel with a strong dance element to it. Currently, Mmeli K is in the process of releasing his long awaited debut album titled Amalobolo.
Mmeli K’s time is now.
